What are the common traits then?
For one, I still pretty much talking about the same things. The only difference is at present I have a wider audience now that I include my opinions and perspectives for others to see in Dreams of Mirrors. In a way, my conversations with you were the prerequisites to leverage my thoughts to the masses.
There is a possibility that there are bigots who are not comfortable with the way I express myself. Do I hold back my thoughts? Even if I want to I can't. That's because man's mind once stretch to a new idea will never go back to its original dimensions - Oliver Wendell Holmes.
The shift happens gradually. I started with with the desire to know God. Naturally I seek the path that many took; through religion. Alas I found out this is not the path of truth. So for the next 20 years I went looking for the right Path. I ventured into many avenues. I went through the study of the scriptures, then philosophy, then science and finally mathematics.
I finally found the answer Sarah. All religions were man made and God is what we create in our own image. I can stop there and proceed toward Enlightenment as suggested by O Sensei:
However "truth" has to be told - there is no truth beyond what we believe in. Hence I did that this past few days. Of course along the *wa[s] (way) it is my duty to inform [] (others) on the kinks in our beliefs.
* Yup, my job is to inform. I am not here to judge.
What you see is not real, those who know will not tell - Iron Maiden, Brave New World.
We all believe what we want to believe. Even when the evidences are stacking against us.
Can't blamed the people Sarah. I went through over a year contemplating God and No God issue with you. Not many people have the stamina and the intellectual prowess to go the distance to explore this hypothesis. In the end what is the answer? At the Point of Paradox, both God and No God exist. We are at such point now. Otherwise this assertion is not sustainable:
We are ONE and we are MANY. We are within God and God is within us. It's like peeling an onion. At every layer there is God. All matters are intelligent and all matters are gods.
If this is true, then we are gods and God is us. Much like an apple comes from an apple tree and an apple tree produces an apple.
You don't need religion to appreciate God. You don't need to believe in God to be god. All you need is to be in order for you to become. To be God is a Man Fully Functioning.
Therefore an atheist is not a person who doesn't believe in God. By definition he is a person IMPARTIAL of God. That is because whether he believes or doesn't believe, there is no Absolute Truth. It is just a matter of opinion and perspective.
Therefore what counts is not the belief in God and No God but rather the usefulness of such belief to the person.
I mentioned earlier that this notion or any notion is actually a "lie" because nobody knows the real answer to this plexing question. It will be nice to have a firm answer to the question of God and No God but the truth is there is no evidence leading to a definite yes or no.
Hence all answers are "lies" as in all answers are merely anecdotal rather than empirical.
Which means we have to rely on faith. By definition this means belief without evidence.
As I said, since there is no Absolute Truth, I just invent my own "lies" and believe them as truth. I rather believe in my own awakening because at least I can hold myself accountable for my own thoughts. I am responsible to pursue my own Path. Not the path set by others because they too like mine are "lies".
These include [by] (all) the "lies" made for thousand of years by the established religions.
I used to joke that I am the follower of Sharudinism; a religion founded by me and followed by me alone. It was supposed to be a satire that religions are a mockery to the human intellect. The truth to the matter is I believe I am God (or a subset of) and I don't believe in any religion.
I believe you are also in the same position as I am.
Does this mean I have to rebel against the orthodox? I don't think so. As long as I am allowed the freedom of thought *a[s] (and) action, I don't give a hoot. To each is his own Path.
* Right Sarah, I am pretty much a Free Radical. I have no malicious intent. I just want to live my life as I deem fit.
